It's really bad. Complete disgrace for original Anime. This movie is Americanized version for Americans, and it's very cheesy.<br /> I understand it is an adaptation of the original story, so it can be different and changed, but <b>OH MY GOD</b> it's <b>so horrible</b> because it's just destroyed the whole point from the original one.<br /> Even directing is not bad, cinematography too, but the scenario is horrible and very much rushed, without proper character development.<br /> The only one really great thing in the movie was the look of Ryuk (actor Willem Dafoe), but he was way too less in the movie's screen time. Everything else is horrible.<br /> Like main actor "Light" is shown as a pretty stupid student.<br /> L is also not great, but there was no time in the movie to show him solving the case.<br /> The end of the movie little surprised me (wasn't expected that) but it's still very bad.<br /> Now I need to rewatch the original Anime.
